Board training

Afallen is delighted to be working in partnership with Deep Insight to deliver a programme of training, fully funded by Welsh Government, to improve representation of Wales’ diverse communities on public Boards in Wales.

The three training programmes, to be delivered in February and March 2024, are:

  1. Support for disabled people, and for individuals from ethnic minority backgrounds, to become the public leaders of the future (6 half-days)
  2. Board introduction, for any new or recently-appointed member of a public Board in Wales (3 half-days)
  3. Diversity and inclusion training for any member of a public Board in Wales (2 half-days)

Each of the training programmes is being offered both through the medium of Welsh and English. Afallen is a strong supporter of the Welsh language, and we are very keen to maximise the up-take of our Welsh language training provision.

Talking about the courses, David Clubb said:

High-performing Boards are diverse, well-trained and aware of their responsibilities. This programme is a brilliant opportunity for Welsh public Boards to take another step on their journey to excellence

Click here to find information about the three courses, including eligibility criteria and a link to the application form. David is very happy to talk to anybody who might be interested in applying.

Please note that Public Health Boards in Wales are not eligible for this programme.
