Afallen Newsletter – September 2024
This month we’ve got some updates about our projects and things we’re interested in, plus a closer look at Mari Arthur, one of our Partners.
Pandemic leads to more obese children in Wales
The rate of obesity in 4-5 year olds in Wales has increased to more than 15%, with big future consequences to our health and well-being. Afallen’s work on local food in Swansea could form part of the solution. Join the conversation on LinkedIn.
World air quality day; how is Afallen helping?
September 7 was World Clean Air day, and Afallen called on partners in Wales to do more to combat pollution. Our Partner donations to good causes include community orchards and community supported agriculture, helping to make a difference to local air pollution.
Afallen has left Twitter; but why?
The social media platform owned by Elon Musk has championed far-right activists, and is no longer a place that aligns with our values. Don’t worry; we are active on a range of other platforms!
Working in Gwynedd
We’re delighted to be working with GwyrddNi to help evaluate an important grassroots climate project in Gwynedd. Mari is leading on the project; find out more about her below!
Afallen Eisteddfod
Mari Arthur was part of a distinguished panel, including Gareth Clubb, Delyth Jewell and Lewis Owen (also known as Bendigaydfran), to discuss sustainability in Wales
