Case study: Ynys Môn Council
Lead Partner: David Clubb
Community Renewal Fund evaluation
Client: Ynys Môn Council
Sector: Public sector

Introduction
Ynys Môn council requested an evaluation on their large, multi-sectoral approach to their Community Renewal Fund programme, aimed at supporting a range of activity including in tourism, climate change mitigation and the Welsh language.
The brief
- Carry out an initial rapid interim review to clarify the status of each component project and the programme as a whole
- Identify what needed to be done to ensure that the programme met its aims and outputs in time and on budget
- Carry out a final review and evaluation to be compliant with UK Government standards
The solution
Afallen recognised the importance of the Welsh language in delivering this project, and allocated Welsh speakers as. the Partner and the Associate who delivered the majority of the project.
We worked with a range of stakeholders within and from outside the council to establish how effective the programme had been in delivering on objectives, and we used our unique perspectives on the Future Generations Act to help demonstrate the range of future generations outcomes that were delivered, in addition to the mandated outputs.

Testimonial
“Afallen provided high quality monitoring evaluation services for our project that included themes of welsh language, visitor economy and green infrastructure. David and the team demonstrated a wealth of knowledge and flexible approach that provided us with valuable recommendations that we will take forward for future work.”
