Introduction
Afallen stepped in at short notice to deliver a training course for existing and prospective Board members, covering all aspects of technical, cultural and regulatory competence
The brief
Afallen was partnered with Deep Insight and given a very tight timescale to produce course material, recruit participants, and deliver training for three courses:
- Diversity and inclusion (for existing members of regulated Public Bodies in Wales)
- Board refresher training (for existing members of regulated Public Bodies in Wales)
- ‘Public Leaders of the Future, for people from ethnic minority backgrounds or disabled people
The solution
Afallen used good practice from across the Board Governance sector to craft engaging and authoritative presentation resources, tailored for each of the three cohorts.
We used our networks to publicise the opportunity to participate in training, which was also offered through the medium of Welsh.
We were successful in recruiting good numbers of participants for each of the courses which were held during February and March 2024. Feedback from the courses was extremely positive, indicating high levels of engagement and enthusiasm for the approach which was very practical and reflective in nature.
